- Hi,
-
- I don't have the original post to read, so judging from what I was able to
- read, here are a couple of ideas to make the old Workbench look better.
-
- If you have 2.1 or better, I would change the screen size to as big as you
- can get away with. In my case I have OS 3.1, running HiRes NTSC Lace in 16
- colors. I over scanned the screen, so I have a 662x430 screen. Now this is not
- the best, but it was the best I could do.
-
- Get on to AmiNet and download the file IGX30.lha (I think it is called). If
- you can't find it, use the search and look for Iconographics, this is a
- freeware package.
-
- Iconographics is a package of nicely drawn icons (drawers, tools, etc.). It
- comes with a working installation script and options to select which icons you
- want to change.
-
- I will keep all tooltypes and the location of the original icon. It also
- comes with a drag and drop installer for icons not included in the original
- Workbench disks. It is very easy to use.
-
- You might also want to look for another package called useless.lha (I think it
- is called). Again, do a search. In this package you will find more nicely
- drawn icons for all sort of useless topics. I found some not so useless :) .
-
- I did what I just mentioned here and it didn't give me 256 colors, but it sure
- made my Workbench appear to be of 1993 vintage, not 1986.
